The Restaurant at Leverick Bay


Alexander Yates started cooking in Boarding schools as a way to pay for college. Shortly after he moved on to cooking in restaurants in Morro Bay California, to later acquire his first real position at Chez Bamboo in Virgin Gorda.

After that brief experience he attended culinary school at the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco California, mean while working around the San Francisco restaurants to get more experience.

After graduating, in 1999 he moved to Europe and cooked for three years in Garmisch Partinkirchen, Bavaria. In this position he eventually became Head Chef of a small restaurant there.

In 2002 Alexander Yates moved back to Virgin Gorda and started the Restaurant at Leverick Bay, turning it into one of the best restaurants in the Territory.

Today he is happily married to his wonderful wife Digna and have three children, Helen, Xander and Andrew, a dog named Chili and two cats.
