  St John Catering  

Chef Mathayom (Mat) Vacharat has been professionally working with food since 1993. His culinary forte is Asian Fusion, but he also is experienced in Caribbean Flair, Progressive American, and Italian Comfort cuisines. After his arrival on St. John in 1995 he  has been Executive Chef at several of St. John’s premier restaurants, including Asolare on Caneel Hill, Paradiso at Mongoose Junction,Chateau Bordeaux, and Chloe and Bernard’s. In 2003, St. John Catering / Mathayom Private Chefs was born and has gone on to win multiple awards such as Best Private Chef of the VI in 2010.  Some of Mats personal achievements include the Ultimate Chef in St. Thomas in 2009 and the Iron Chef vs. Island Chef competition 2010. He has returned to the Ultimate Chef as the master of ceremonies and judged the Tastes of St. Croix.

In light of such successes Mat is focusing on a cookbook, product line, and expanding over the virgin islands.
